Unlike traditional social media networks, Chatib operates on the core principle of data minimization. We do not require you to register an account. You can chat with strangers completely anonymously.

To ensure the functional stability, security, and integrity of the platform, our servers automatically collect limited technical data when you connect to our website:

• Log Data and Device Information: When you access our chat rooms, our servers log standard technical parameters including your IP address, browser type (User-Agent), operating system, and the time of your visit. Server access logs containing IP addresses are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security purposes and are then automatically and permanently deleted.
• Chat Session Data: Public chat room messages are ephemeral; they are broadcast in real-time and may be temporarily held in volatile server memory (RAM) for moderation and anti-spam filtering. We do not permanently archive public chat histories.
• Private Messaging: One-on-one direct messages are strictly confidential. Our infrastructure utilises secure WebSocket connections to transmit these messages. Private messages are stored only in RAM and are permanently deleted the moment you close or refresh your browser tab. We do not monitor private conversations unless specifically reported by a participating user for severe violations of our Terms and Conditions.

3. How We Use Collected Information

The minimal data we collect is strictly utilised for the following operational purposes:

• Platform Security: IP addresses are used by our automated systems to detect and block DDoS attacks, ban malicious actors, and prevent spam bots from flooding the chat rooms. Logs are retained for no more than 30 days and never used for advertising profiling.

Our platform may contain links to external websites shared by other users. Please be aware that Chatib does not control these external sites, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. We use Google Analytics (with IP anonymization — see Section 4) to analyse aggregated, anonymised site usage. We do not use third-party advertising networks, cross-site tracking pixels, or data broker integrations of any kind.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Chatib is strictly designed for adults aged 18 and over. All chat rooms on Chatib — without exception — are intended exclusively for adults. Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), any account or session suspected of belonging to a minor is blocked immediately.
